The Hawaii Prescription Drug Overdose: Data-Driven Prevention Initiative (DDPI)
The Hawaii Prescription Drug Overdose: Data-Driven Prevention Initiative ("Hawaii DDPI") Project assists the State of Hawaii in responding to the opioid epidemic by advancing and elevating state-level prevention for opioid overuse, misuse, abuse, and overdose. The DDPI is one of several federal grants from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ("CDC") that advance state-level prevention for prescription drug overdose by providing resources and support through collaboration between several state agencies and UH Mānoa's Office of Public Health Studies.
Evaluation related services shall be completed in three (3) years/phases that include providing technical assistance on planning and data-related groups and activities, and completing evaluation activities and reporting requirements throughout the grant period with specific activities for each year/phase:
a. Phase 1 - Complete final Hawaii DDPI Project Evaluation Plan, implement evaluation and reporting processes; complete initial needs assessment; organize and convene DDPI Data Committee;
b. Phase 2 - Complete and disseminate final needs assessment, complete strategic plan; and
c. Phase 3 - Complete evaluation and related activities, finalize and disseminate state and country profiles.
